Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole 🍗
Chicken, ham, and melty Swiss in a creamy Dijon sauce with a buttery panko crunch, all the flavor with none of the rolling.
Ingredients (serves 4)
- 1.5 lbs chicken breast
- 8 oz deli ham
- 6 slices swiss cheese
- 4 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 2 tbsp dijon mustard
- 1 cup panko
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Heat oven to 375°F. Cut the chicken into bite-size pieces, season with salt and pepper, and brown in 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat until just cooked, about 7 minutes.

Spread the chicken in a greased 9x13 dish, layer the ham slices over it, then the Swiss cheese.

Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan, whisk in the flour for 1 minute, then gradually whisk in the milk. Simmer until thickened, about 4 minutes, and stir in the Dijon and garlic powder.

Pour the sauce evenly over the casserole. Toss the panko with the last tablespoon of melted butter and scatter on top.

Bake at 375°F until golden and bubbling, 20 to 25 minutes. Rest 5 minutes before serving.
