Hot Roast Beef Sandwiches 🥪
An open-faced diner favorite, tender roast beef and rich gravy piled over thick bread with mashed potatoes.
Ingredients (serves 4)
- 1 lb beef roast
- 4 slices bread
- 2 cups beef stock
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp black pepper

Slice the cooked or deli roast beef thin.

Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, whisk in the flour, and cook until nutty and golden, about 2 minutes.

Slowly whisk in the beef stock with the Worcestershire, onion powder, and pepper and simmer until the gravy is thick, about 4 minutes.

Slip the sliced beef into the gravy and warm gently for 2 minutes.
