Steak Street Tacos 🌮
Juicy seared steak on doubled corn tortillas with onion, cilantro, and lime, just like the taco truck does it.
Ingredients (serves 4)
- 1.5 lbs steak
- 12 corn tortillas
- 1 onion
- 1/2 cup cilantro
- 2 limes
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper

Pat the steak dry and season all over with cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper.

Heat olive oil in a cast iron skillet over high heat until smoking, then sear the steak 3 to 4 minutes per side for medium-rare, 130°F.

Rest the steak on a cutting board for 5 minutes, then dice into small half-inch pieces.

While the steak rests, finely chop the onion and cilantro and cut the limes into wedges.

Char the corn tortillas directly in a dry skillet over high heat, about 20 seconds per side, and stack them in pairs.

Pile steak onto the doubled tortillas, shower with onion and cilantro, and squeeze lime over everything.
