Hawaiian Teriyaki Burgers 🍔
Juicy beef patties glazed in sweet teriyaki with a ring of caramelized pineapple, a luau on a bun.
Ingredients (serves 4)
- 1.5 lbs ground beef
- 4 pineapple rings
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tsp ginger
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp cornstarch

Mince the garlic and grate the ginger. Simmer the soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and 1/4 cup water in a small pan for 3 minutes. Stir the cornstarch into 1 tablespoon cold water, whisk in, and cook 1 minute until glossy.

Shape the beef into 4 dimpled patties and season with salt and pepper.

Sear the pineapple rings in a hot 12-inch skillet, 2 minutes per side, until caramelized, then set aside.

Cook the patties over medium-high heat, 4 minutes per side, brushing with teriyaki glaze during the last 2 minutes.
