Crispy Chili Chicken 🌶️
Tender chicken tossed in a sweet-spicy chili garlic sauce with sesame seeds and scallions, bright heat and glossy coating.
Ingredients (serves 4)
- 1.5 lbs chicken breast
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 2 eggs
- 4 cloves garlic
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon chili paste
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

Cut chicken breast into 1-inch chunks. Beat eggs in a bowl and mix cornstarch with salt.

Dip chicken pieces in egg, then coat with cornstarch. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Working in batches, fry chicken until golden brown, about 8-10 minutes total per batch. Remove and set aside.

In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Stir in soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, chili paste, and sesame oil. Return chicken to skillet and toss to coat.

Cook for 2-3 minutes until sauce reduces and coats chicken. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve over rice.
