Chicken thighs braised in soy sauce, vinegar, and garlic until glossy and tangy, a beloved one-pot dinner over steamed rice.
Ingredients (serves 4)
- 2 lbs chicken thighs
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 8 cloves garlic
- 3 bay leaves
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 cups rice

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and brown the chicken thighs skin side down for 5 minutes.

Flip the chicken and add soy sauce, vinegar, smashed garlic, bay leaves, black pepper, and brown sugar with 1/2 cup water.
